When I paint, I luxuriate in the tactile qualities of acrylic paint, pumice, and threads, building texture and color, layer upon layer. I delight in mixing colors, returning to the known and discovering the new.

Pieced Series

My art career began with textiles, first weaving functional items and then building three dimensional fiber art. In the Pieced series, my textile background shows through in grids and threads and the quilt-like piecing together of forms.

Circle Series

Certain images and icons, stored in our collective unconscious, emerge in different ways in different times. One recurring symbol is the circle, which has often represented wholeness or eternity.
